I could get used to this, another scorching day with decent SE's and a clean surf to play on. Wind was a little flukey on the inside again, especially top start with whilst the tide was high, but out the back I was totally maxed out which was perfect as it meant I could fly upwind to gain loads of ground before gybing, heading back in upwind until reaching hte waves and then bear away onto them for some epic wave rides, probably the best doen-the-line frontside wave-rising ever at Borth. On one average wave I decided to count the number of turns I was getting in and managed 15 big turns off the top... Some of the bigger set waves must have allowed 20+ turns and I still can't get over the effort you can put into these turns. The offshore winds were holding the waves up for ever, so once I got the feel for whilst bottom-turning I'd be looking up at the spot I'd hit off the top and it would already be feathering looking as though it would engulf me, but the waves held up for ever allowing me to really attack the lip.... Just brilliant.

The wind began to ease of a little later and Chris came out with a 4.7m just as I was packing up. He soon changed up to 5.4 and still had some good wave-rides although the surf eased off a little as well.

We don't get many decent cross-offshore wave-riding days, but they are definitely worth waiting for.
